Robotics Community Impact
1750+ youth reached
With my robotics team, I have mentored 3 all-girls robotics teams (2 from my community and Team Comoros in the FIRST Global Challenge), ran 10+ STEM activity booths in our community and at the Boston Children’s Museum, completed presentations on STEM to local youth (Girls in Engineering Talk, annual presentations at an elementary school & for 5 Girl Scouts), as well as hosted STEM and robotics camps/weekly classes for middle/elementary school students. As a captain, I am in charge of creating and organizing these outreach opportunities.
Beyond outreach, I also create opportunities for team members to visit and learn from companies such as Google, Boston Dynamics, iRobot, MITRE, Suffolk, Affectiva, and Novanta.
Lastly, I’m a robotics club mentor. I teach a group of students robotics concepts such as hardware design, 3D modeling, and programming while guiding them as they build their own robots throughout the year.
